Career

Wolfgang Heidl completed his apprenticeship as a freight forwarding clerk with an international forwarding group. After successfully completing his apprenticeship, he worked there for seven years, most recently as a forwarding manager. His studies at the DAV were followed by five years of employment as an authorised signatory in a medium-sized forwarding company in Berlin.

In 1986, he switched to the IT industry. There, he first worked as a sales employee, then as a consultant, and finally as assistant to the management until 1991. In 1992, he ventured into self-employment in the software development department of a renowned German publishing house.

In 1994, he founded Soloplan GmbH as managing partner. The company has now approximately 210 employees at its headquarters in Kempten and approximately 50 employees in other branch offices in Germany, Spain, France, Poland and South Africa.

In 2020, Wolfgang Heidl became a member of the board of trustees of the Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
