TAG, the specialist transport and project logistics company, started out in 2007 with only one curtain-sided trailer. Since then, it has developed into a modern and highly efficient transport company.
Today, the company has 40 employees and operates a state-of-the-art specialist fleet of 30 vehicles. TAG currently covers a large part of the European market. In particular, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium are among the strongest relations. Based on many years of experience, expert advice and country-specific know-how, the multilingual team has set itself up as a specialist for large-scale wind turbine projects and other types of oversized and heavy load transports.
The logistics software CarLo® from Soloplan has been successfully used by TAG since 2013: “Opting for CarLo® offered the potential to create more clients in order to network all our branches. Another deciding factor was the ability to use the software in different languages,” declares Oliver Tkocz – Owner and Head of Planning.
Following an initial introduction phase, the actual implementation of CarLo® went smoothly. According to Oliver Tkocz, the TAG employees had to start easing their thought processes: “Initially, working with CarLo® was intensive and time-consuming. However, succeeding the initial training, we became more efficient and achieved significant time savings.”
The basic principle of TAG is the flexibility to adapt to the specific requirements of the market. Specialist transports require intensive preparatory measures, all the more at the beginning of the planning phase. This process relies on the support of the software being used. In particular, CarLo® has significantly simplified the invoicing process and the coordination of transports. Many criteria, such as approval statuses, payload and police monitoring, can be taken into account using CarLo®.
In the meantime, around 21 vehicles have been equipped with the CarLo® inTOUCH telematics app. “After a short induction phase, all of our drivers are enthusiastic about CarLo® inTOUCH,” explains Mr Tkocz. Thanks to the telematics solution, the digital information chain no longer ends at the company headquarters. Truck drivers can now also be seamlessly integrated into the process by means of a mobile device. In addition to vehicle positioning, other essential parts of CarLo® inTOUCH are the dispatch of vehicle orders as well as the display of status messages and driving time messages.
TAG is currently integrating the document management solution CarLo® inDMS in order to facilitate the storage and filing of documents. Thanks to the convenient integration of all master and transaction data, the standard requirements of document entry are perfectly combined with those of a TMS solution. The workflow is optimised using any of the numerous commercial document scanners or a multifunction device.
