Kempten University of Applied Sciences and THE software house Soloplan have been working closely together for a number of years. Several times a year, we hold lectures for the degree programmes in computer science and logistics. In November, 40 students from the computer science department attended our lecture on the integration of information systems, given by Herr Prof. Dr. Wind.
The students, in different groups, presented their solutions to an assignment in the area of telematics. While working out the solutions, the computer scientists-to-be had a look behind the scenes at our software house and spoke with some of our employees, and our customers from the logistics sector, including their truck drivers. The subsequently presented solutions impressed both the professors and Soloplan participants with their proximity to real world practice and the potential to actually implement them.
Based on various criteria, the “best” solution was selected and, as befitting, was awarded accordingly: The main prize was an event of the students choosing in Soloplan’s box at the Allgäu bigBOX. Their choice was the concert of German rapper Kollegah, who recently played a tour stop in Kempten. We hope the winners enjoyed themselves and look forward to more exciting projects in the future!
