The software and consultancy firm Soloplan has now officially opened the doors to the new offices in Dresden, Fritz-Reuter-Straße 32c by conducting an information day. The diverse programme included presentations on telematics, electronic transport assignment as well as mobile time slot management. The integration of direct, split and intermodal transports via the new CarLo® inAIR & SEA module for air and sea freight was also part of the agenda. Furthermore, the Schunck Group elaborated on emergency management for commercial vehicles and the neighbouring Straßenverkehrs-Genossenschaft (SVG) Sachsen und Thüringen eG (Road Transport Cooperative in Saxony and Thuringia) presented its service range. Soloplan customers and prospective customers, including forwarders specialising in load and partial load transports as well as vehicle transports, were among the visitors. At the end of the event, Soloplan CEO Wolfgang Heidl drew a positive conclusion: “The information day was a very successful start in the new offices.”
Christian Teuchert, authorised signatory and head of sales of the SVG provided information on funding consultancy, among other things. As part of the DeMinimis programmes as well as training and further education, annual funds are provided which can be obtained by transport companies using vehicles liable for toll. However, the limits, deadlines and other conditions for requesting these funds change every year. Competent consultation on this topic can protect against financial disadvantages.
“On average, 25 percent of all vehicles have downtimes due to breakdowns once every year.” This statement by Sven Habel of Oskar Schunck GmbH & Co. KG underlined the need for effective insurance. In his presentation, he talked about the K9 mobility protection for breakdown and towing services and the Schunck Assistance Card as a comprehensive package for emergency management.
Soloplan also demonstrated the new inAIR & SEA module for the Transport Management System CarLo which has been developed as part of a customer project. It is available as of release 2.53 and includes all necessary features for the efficient and transparent processing of intermodal transports involving air and sea freight.
Special attention was also given to the telematics solution inTOUCH. It includes an integrated smartwatch which allows the driver to receive information on current orders and changes even more quickly and comfortably. With this app, developed especially for Android smartwatches, you can receive and view messages and tour data “on your wrist” and reply immediately. The system communicates via the traditional telematics devices in the driver’s cab, which are connected to the smartwatch via Bluetooth. The smartwatch app is an addition to the telematics solution CarLo® inTOUCH. The system is integrated in CarLo® and ensures seamless order management. It is possible to plan transport orders directly via drag and drop to the current truck locations visualised on a map.
The inAIR & SEA and CarLo® inTOUCH modules are part of the diverse product family surrounding the Transport Management System CarLo. It also includes the CarLo® inMOTION module for fleet management and vehicle cost calculation, the logistics platform CarLo® exCHANGE as well as the Warehouse Management System CarLo® inSTORE.
