With innovation at our core and an international footprint, we’re expanding our dynamic sales team in Midrand, Johannesburg - and we’re looking for a high-performing Area Sales Manager to drive growth across South Africa and beyond.
Your mission
As a key member of our international sales force, you’ll be the face of our cutting-edge logistics solutions. You’ll identify and win new business, build lasting relationships, and help our clients transform their operations with our powerful software.
Your tasks
Proactively acquire new customers through your network and industry outreach (transporters, freight forwarders, fleet operators, etc.)
Deliver compelling product presentations both online and in person
Develop tailored proposals and negotiate contracts to close
Manage and grow existing client accounts through retention, upselling, and cross-selling
Collaborate closely with local and international teams, reporting to branch leadership
Your profile
Your qualifications
Completed logistics, business or software degree with relevant professional experience
Strong IT affinity and a knack for systems thinking and process optimisation
Knowledge of the logistics sector with specific focus on road freight is essential
Minimum qualifications
Minimum 3 years sales experience is essential – ideally in the area of software products and/or logistics
Valid passport and Code 8 driver’s license
Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially at C-level
Dedication to the job and excellent sales techniques
Fluent English; additional South African languages are a plus
Willingness to travel; you will require a valid passport

Our application process
Send us your informative application–ideally with a CV and relevant certificates. Afterwards, we will schedule a telephone interview.
We are looking forward to getting to know you in person or via video call. During the interview, you will meet your future head of department, the HR department and our management. Additionally, in a short technical test, you can prove your skills. Allow about 1.5 to 2 hours for this.
We will inform you about the status of your application as soon as possible. As the next step, we will invite you to a work trial allowing you to gain insight into your future tasks and get a feel for everyday work at Soloplan. You will spend the day with your new team.
During your first week of work, you will gain first insights into the company, get to know your team and different departments and familiarise with your onboarding plan. An experienced Soloplanner will guide you as a mentor and support you at any time.
For your further training, we offer (product) trainings as well as German and English courses, if desired. We also support technical workshops and training.
