.NET-training 2019

.NET – the new world of transport planning: More than 160 participants attended the free training session at Soloplan City

On 14 and 15 October, the second .NET training session was held at Soloplan. It was a great success. More than 160 customers from Germany and abroad attended the free training session in order to learn more about the further development of the Transport Planning area.

Order Entry was the first area to be migrated from Delphi to .NET. That migration took place in October 2018. Now, just about a year later, the Transport Planning area is also being migrated. The new Transport Planning (.NET) allows customers to use the numerous known functions and at the same time profit from new technologies.

Thanks to the simplification and improvement of many concepts, the new area provides, above all, more flexibility with regard to adjustments and a uniform user experience in CarLo. In the future, users will also benefit from innovations such as the workflow editor that enables the integration of business processes or from the use of artificial intelligence in transport planning.

“There are many reasons for a migration to .NET. The most important aspect to us is that we can guarantee our customers constant further development and improvement as well as access to new future-oriented technologies such as App/Web development, a cloud platform and ML.NET,” says Wolfgang Heidl, CEO of Soloplan GmbH.

After a get-together over German pretzels and coffee, Marc Schomerus, team leader development, explained the background and benefits of the migration from Delphi to .NET.

Afterwards, Ulrich Mader, deputy head of customer management, gave the first part of the training. The focus of that first part was on the users and the operational aspects of Transport Planning (.NET). The second part was aimed at experienced key users and CarLo administrators. Practical examples were used to present all innovations in the technical field of Transport Planning (.NET) in CarLo.

At the end of the training session and during the breaks, there was a lively exchange between the participants and the Soloplan team. The speakers as well as the sales representatives and developers were available to answer the participants’ questions.
