Wolfgang Heidl becomes a member of the board of trustees of the University of Kempten

Soloplan and the university deepen their successful cooperation

For many years, Soloplan has been supporting the Kempten University of Applied Sciences. From sponsoring the Soloplan auditorium since 2006 to the foundation of the “Laboratory for Innovation and Digitalisation in Logistics” of the faculty of computer science in 2018, Soloplan have been dedicating themselves to supporting the University of Kempten and thus offer young students the opportunity to enjoy optimal education in Kempten. In order to highlight the successful cooperation between the university administration, professors, students and Soloplan, CEO Wolfgang Heidl has been appointed to the university’s board of trustees for the current period.

The family-run company founded by Wolfgang Heidl has been developing the logistics software CarLo® since 1994 and, in terms of careers, is particularly appealing to students taking part in the courses in computer science, business informatics and game engineering. However, business administration graduates also regularly find their place at THE software company of the logistics sector. Often, students start with an internship while working on their bachelor’s or master’s degree, taking on projects of their own and responsibility from the very beginning. “We place value on assigning tasks that are closely related to the practical application, with current trends of the IT sector as a guideline. Students carry out these projects on their own and then present their successful final result. That way, students and graduates very quickly take an important place on our team,” says Wolfgang Heidl, CEO of Soloplan.

In order to even further deepen the longstanding cooperation and partnership, Wolfgang Heidl has now been unanimously appointed to the university’s board of trustees by the senate of the University of Kempten in the last session. The board of trustees supports the interests of the University of Kempten in public and helps the university fulfil its tasks. The members are nominated by the university administration, appointed for a term of four years and carry out their duties on a voluntary basis.

Apart from the new member of the board of trustees Wolfgang Heidl, two sons of the Heidl family are already active at the university as lecturers. Fabian Heidl, CEO International at Soloplan, is a lecturer for the master’s course in logistics, whereas Christian Heidl, Chief Development Officer, assumes this task for the area of business informatics. Soloplan and the University of Kempten–a successful and sustainable long-term partnership.
