Bordereau

The bordereau is a document for grouped consignments. Grouped loads is the term for a grouped delivery of consignments from multiple senders to different receivers. A bordereau is mandatory for grouped consignments and, as the manifest, belongs to the accompanying shipping documents. However, a delivery note is enough for individual consignments that are transported and delivered from one sender to one receiver.

The bordereau contains all the necessary information for the receiving forwarder, such as the sender, receiver, total weight and goods designation. In addition, it serves to document the individual consignments that the forwarder has to load, with data such as number of pallets, weight, dangerous goods information, cash on delivery, etc. At the end, the bordereau serves the forwarder as proof of the transport service rendered, as the receiver signs it to confirm the complete and error-free delivery of the freight. After a successful delivery, the invoice is issued by the forwarder on the basis of the bordereau.
