Subcontractor

In logistics, a subcontractor is a service provider who carries out a transport. This independent carrier, for example, a forwarding company, parcel service, etc., receives orders from a main company. A contract is concluded between the two to determine the conditions. In logistics, subcontractors are often active as transport partners for a specific company on a permanent basis. Alternatively, all kinds of transports can be tendered to known networks so that quotes can be submitted. The advantages of working together with subcontractors are, among other things, cost savings through outsourcing and support thanks to additional expert knowledge or professionals for specific orders or order peaks.
