FAQ–frequently asked questions about
CarLo inAIR&SEA
Various interfaces are already part of the standard version of CarLo inAIR&SEA:
Regarding air and sea freight, we want to highlight the official partnership with the ocean booking platform INTTRA (ocean schedule + tracking).
By contrast, Descartes is the air freight platform for the creation of the eAWB (electronic air way bill). The interface to CargoOffice (air freight) contains the freight rates of the individual air freight providers. Additionally, you can make requests for flights here that match the time and location of the order.
Yes, the differentiation between FCL and LCL containers is an essential task in CarLo inAIR&SEA. FCL/LCL transports are planned based on them.
Even the standard version of CarLo can access different means of communication. For example, orders can be placed directly from the system via e-mail.
However, you can also incorporate integrated options such as CarLo exCHANGE, CarLo inTOUCH or other external platforms. You can make booking request via an interface using various platforms, such as to INTTRA and Descartes.
CarLo inAIR&SEA can create all freight documents required for air and sea freight handling. This includes, for example: Bill of lading (B/L), master bill of lading (MBL), sea waybill, air waybill (AWB), house air waybill (HAWB), master air waybill (MAWB) and many more.
Communication that includes different languages, time zones and currencies is particularly important in the areas of air and sea freight. Therefore, CarLo maps all the necessary processes clearly and with all conceivable variants.
Data transfer errors are prevented thanks to a central database on which all branch offices work. Additionally, data records that are being processed are locked for other users until the processing is complete and the data records have been updated. That way, double processing and overwriting are prevented.
Yes–thanks to the CarLo inAIR&SEA’s ability to handle multiple clients at once, any number of companies can be integrated into the CarLo environment. Within these clients, you can specify individual role and rights concepts for the so-called organisational units.
For example branch offices, departments or individual people are organisational units. That way, you can individually control that, for example, branch office/client A cannot see the master and/or transaction data of branch office/client B.
Thanks to the client replication option, you can also carry out an internal allocation and cost allocation between the individual clients.
