Soloplan at the transport logistic fair in Munich 2023: Relaxed digitalisation with CarLo

From 09 to 12 May 2023, the leading international trade fair for the logistics sector–transport logistic Munich–will take place for the first time after a four-year break.

Soloplan will be an exhibitor and will present some new features in the premium transport management system (TMS) CarLo. Soloplan’s experts will show you the newest innovations regarding the logistics and forwarding software in hall A3, at booth 505/606. Apart from a newly-developed full-text search, the OCR functionality, as well as a file and Web API, Quick Steps and smart workflows are also among the many comfort functionalities of the programme. With them, you can automate your logistics processes even more comfortably and simplify and accelerate routine activities.

Using the newly-developed full-text search in CarLo, you can find documents and data records even faster now. During the full-text search, all of the existing texts are searched, whereby the documents are fully analysed. This means that the keyword density and their distribution are calculated. The search results are given a priority and sorted based on this. That way, the user does not only receive all results for his search term, but they are also sorted by relevance. The probability that one of the first hits contains the desired document is especially high in the newly-developed full-text search.

Furthermore, the file and Web API integrated in CarLo have been significantly improved. With the current version, you can connect all file and Web-based interfaces without issues. The API configuration in CarLo allows you to configure and integrate individual formats for interfaces. That way, seamless working is made even easier and efficiency is increased.

The Quick Steps functionality in CarLo, which is also new, makes work easier for dispatchers in particular by automating processes that recur daily. Quick Steps are predefined rules based on which  tours can be automatically preplanned taking certain criteria into account.

The smart workflows in CarLo also allow you to save a lot of time. Automated work processes, so-called workflows, combine and organise the individual components and steps of a work process. An automatic sequence of activities is created. Through this automation, existing processes are optimised and transmission errors, costs and the required time are significantly reduced.

For optimal usage, the smart workflows in the logistics software CarLo are configured individually for the customers and adjusted to meet their requirements. The smart workflows replace the manual use of individual fields and, among other things, make scheduled printing processes and e-mail notifications as well as communication with networked software systems possible. One of the most frequently used workflows is the transfer of fields and information. For example, that way, information from field A can be automatically transferred to any number of following fields during order entry.

Furthermore, CarLo is one of the first TMS with a fully-integrated OCR functionality with which documents can be read and data can be transferred automatically. Using OCR scanning, users benefit from faster work processes. Data processing is automated, which increases productivity. At the same time, the risk potential is reduced significantly in comparison to manual data entry. Last but not least, the work involved for sorting documents is also eliminated, as thanks to the OCR functionality, documents and images are allocated fully automatically within CarLo.
