The challenges facing Kuehne+Nagel:
Since the beginning of 2020, Kuehne+Nagel have been using CarLo–both the transport management system CarLo and the add-on CarLo inMOTION for the fleet management of their own vehicles. CarLo replaces the existing TMS used for the FTL/LTL trailer fleet in Poland and was connected with the Kuehne+Nagel financial system. For their Road Logistics and FTL/LTL trailer fleet, Kuehne+Nagel was looking for a transport and fleet management system with a single process within two harmonised systems. The goal was to achieve greater efficiency through process automation. Kuehne+Nagel also wanted to reduce the operational costs resulting from supervision and control over the course of individual processes. Another goal was to improve the quality of customer service and performance, which means enhancing the customer journey with Kuehne+Nagel Road Logistics. In addition to improving customer service, Kuehne+Nagel also aimed to build up high standards for cooperation with carriers. Through constant further development, Soloplan guarantees the continuous improvement of CarLo.
With the transport management system CarLo and the add-on for fleet management, CarLo inMOTION, Kuehne+Nagel manages their commercial fleet properly and in accordance with legal requirements. Implementation of CarLo
After coordination and analysis of the requirements and individual functionalities of CarLo, the logistics software was implemented quickly and the key users were trained intensively. During this phase, the special requirements of the users are discussed and a user-friendly interface for tour planning, tour execution and communication with transport companies is jointly created. Furthermore, together with trained specialists of Soloplan GmbH, relevant evaluations and reports are created, configurations are made and connections are established to internal and external programmes via interfaces.
